Fuselage basic assembly

Fuselage has now been initially assembled using "clicos" (above). These handy spring-loaded fasteners are placed in some of the predrilled holes to hold everything temporarily together. All holes have been drilled to size and certain parts fitted together. It is now ready to be dismantled, every hole de-burred, all outer skin holes dimpled and all edges of every part filed smooth.   Then it will be clicoed together again and the riveting process begins. You don't have to be half-crazy to do this, but it does help.

Project was started summer of 2011 - a long way to go (2000 HRS +/- )

The final product should look something like the one below INCLUDING THE COLOUR SCHEME -pretty well the same as my old 185, C-GVYE.  Since that aircraft crashed (after I sold it), I may even use the same registration if it's still available...  when I'm ready to paint.
